kintyrelass, honestly, in the spring/summer free-sleeping is pretty darn easy.
Lately it has been in the 70s during the day, 40s at night but being only February it could get cold again.

Hi, been living in my van for a couple of months now, got some aluminium quilting for insulation...its great...and the better weather is here in Sunny Scotland, lots of surfers and holiday makers arriving so dont think Im very noticeable and Im getting into a routine, wash in a local ladies loo, the baby changing unit has a toilet and sink behind a locked door so I can attach a shower spray to the taps for washing...all working ok, dry my hair in the office....enjoying every minute of it so far.

Oh my gosh, Patrick! I'll bet you've got more wonderful tricks up your sleeve. That ventilation system sounds like an elegant solution to that issue!
We aren't stealth campers, but we usually drive with our Large Bag 'O Water on the roof. It's a luxury to have hot water for washing dinner dishes and dusty faces.

Just a brief note to say "Hello!" I'm still in the planning stages. I did this years ago in the late 80's, and it was a blast, although my obsessive, over-bearing dad freaked out the whole time. I won't get into that except to say that he's desperate to prevent me from living "in the bush" again. It never occurred to me back then that I was already "ahead of my time" in this. I only knew it was cheap and pretty fun at the same time. I've often wondered what would've happened if I'd never stopped. Perhaps I'll share some of those experiences in the future....perhaps.
Until then, I dream and plan....

Seems to be an abandoned forum. Or lost. This old van traveler from South Jersey will give you a try.

Please register and tell us a little about yourself. We'd love to know if you are currently living in a van, car, boat or other unconventional living space or if you are simply curious/fascinated by they types of lifestyles. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you'll stick around for awhile and check back. Howdy all Already registered , living with my sister ( medical reasons ) now retired . And bored all to hell , I got to get out on my own or I'll lose what little sanity I have. Since finances dictate that I have to live cheap , I've been looking at ways of alternative living ( again ) So at this point , I've read a lot , ( and still doing so ) and VL just came into my gun-sights. Fwiw , I have sorta old hippie/geek/international world leanings , so if you ask me anything , likely I can talk about it. A lot ( fair warning ) Hope I haven't scared you off , folks

I am so ashamed for letting this forum lie fallow. I couldn't even remember what email address to log in with!
